What does “Innerstanding” mean?

I prefer to use the word “innerstand” as opposed to “understand”. I feel we should not stand beneath others to receive information. Instead, we should take in that information, hold it inside as we process it, and if we choose to keep it, it remains within our minds, hearts, bodies, and spirit. The information stands within us.

Are you a certified hypnotherapist?

Yes, I am certified through IACT, the International Association of Counselors and Therapists. I am also a Certified Stress Management Consultant thought IACT.

Is Hypnosis like a truth serum? Is the hypnotherapist in control during the session?

Contrary to what we see in the movies and on t.v., a person being hypnotized is in complete control of their actions and what they say. If a person chose not to share information, that is their choice to do so. A hypnotherapist is a facilitator who helps bring a person into hypnosis, guides them through the places they want or need to go and emerges them from hypnosis. The person being hypnotized is in complete control and has the right to refuse any suggestions. The person being hypnotized must also be ready and willing before entering hypnosis, otherwise, it will not work.

What if I’m unsure I can be hypnotized?

It is my job as a hypnotherapist to find the best way to induce hypnosis for my clients. Because everyone is different, I work to find what type of induction works best for that individual client. Some people are more visual while others may hear, smell, taste, feel, or just know something in their imagination/mind. If someone is unable to visualize images in their mind, an induction and everything else in the session, focused on having the client “see” things would not be productive. Also, using words and phrases the client is familiar and comfortable with also helps the experience. I use every tool I have to get a client into hypnosis and keep them there during their session. However, if a person is not ready to be hypnotized, believes it will not work, or has other negative connotations of hypnosis in their mind, hypnosis will not work. To provide the best experience possible and to prepare clients for their session, I send each new client an audio file for them to practice going into a guided self-hypnosis. This allows the client to practice going into and out of hypnosis and gives the client an idea of what to expect during their session.

What if I am blocked during my session or am unable to experience what I was hoping to?

Blocks do happen during sessions. From my experience, it is often because a person is not ready or willing to take in the information that is coming to them or they are having trouble believing it. I will try different ways to work around blocks, however, I cannot force a client to experience something.

Do you accept health insurance?

I do not accept health insurance, however, some health insurance providers may reimburse you for your session(s). It is best to contact your health insurance company to see if your session(s) would qualify for reimbursement through them.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes, all sessions are confidential. The information collected before and during your session(s) remains only with me and will not be given to any third parties. If a client requests information regarding their session be sent to their doctor, they may do so by submitting a Records Request Form.

Why do you recommend session packages?

Session Packages are recommended because most issues are not solved in one session. Most often we need to dig away at finding the root cause and then work to resolve it.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

I know life happens and things come up so I am always happy to reschedule or cancel appointments when needed. I do require 48 hours notice otherwise you will be charged for a full session. This policy is in place because my schedule is often full and I am unable to fill that time slot with less than 48 hours notice. While rescheduling is allowed, clients are limited to 2 reschedules per appointment.

What happens after I schedule an appointment with you?

Once an appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email from me with information about your session, a Zoom link for your session, new client paperwork, and a link to my Guided Hypnotherapy Practice Session for you to listen to before your session. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder. You will also receive appointment confirmation and reminders.

Do I need to fill out the forms you sent me after I scheduled my first appointment with you?

Yes. As noted in the Terms & Conditions section when scheduling with me, clients are responsible for returning the New Client Forms they receive at least 48 hours before their session begins. This paperwork is required and I cannot have a session with you without the completed forms. Failure to return the forms 48 hours prior to your session will cause your appointment to be canceled without refund.

Why are refunds not given after the session?

I do everything I can to ensure you have the best hypnosis experience possible, however, you are in control in regards to what happens. I am a guide helping you get to where you need to be, but you have to do the work and get there. When you succeed, it is because of you, but when you fail, it is also because of you. l am unable to make people do the work, explore places they are not willing to go to, or be open enough to accept and trust the information that comes to them. I do everything I can to help prepare my clients and set them up for success, but the client is the one who must do the work.

What does “do the work” mean?

When I say “do the work” it holds a different meaning for everyone. Someone who schedules a consult and appointment is “doing the work”, but then in the session, the client must trust the information that comes to them and in some cases face things that they have been avoiding. That is also “doing the work”. What the client does after their session is a big part of “doing the work” because I help you discover the information you need to make the positive changes in your life you have been wanting. What you do with that information is up to you. If you do not want to take the advice given to you, from yourself, I cannot force you to do it. Just as I cannot eat for someone else, I cannot do their work.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and PayPal.

Will my session be recorded?

Yes, all sessions are recorded. You will be emailed a link with access to your session within 48 hours after your session. It is recommended to download your session as it will be deleted after 30 days.
